Family Date Night

Last night we decided to go on a "family date" to get myself and the boys out of the house. Mostly, Malakai needed some room to run. We took him to the indoor playground at the mall so he could wear himself out and get some interaction with other kids. He loves it!

Then we grabbed a cheap dinner at the Costco food court and did a little shopping before heading home.

It was a simple outing with my guys, one that I think we should make a weekly tradition. Sometimes it's the littlest things that make the biggest difference.

Where do you like to go with your spouse and kids when the weather outside is less than ideal?

  1. we used to go to borders, but sadly that closed last month. There is another book store going in the same place, so hopefully that one is as kid friendly as before!

  2. We have a pretty amazing community center that has a large toddler play area. They also have a nice sized pool with a a wonderful area for young kids (fountains, little slides, waterfalls, etc.) We also like to walk to mall or go to book stores or the library.

  3. Wednesday nights are becoming quite fun for us. Our church serves dinner those nights, and it only costs our family $8 for a good home cooked meal. Than Liam goes to childcare/class while Brent leads a youth Bible study, and I chat with my girlfriends. It's nice being able to eat dinner together, then going our separate ways to do things we enjoy for an hour.

Wednesday nights is when the church has choir practice, Bible studies, meetings, and worship practice. This is why there is childcare during that time.
