{CLOSED} EcoMom product review + giftcard giveaway

This is my second time working with EcoMom to do a review + giveaway. I'm so excited to continue working with them as I love what they represent and am a huge fan of the products they offer.

Currently they have an amazing program called "EcoPass" that allows you to purchase a $99 annual membership which provides a 15% discount on every order as will as free shipping without the usual $75 minimum order requirement!

Last month I was sent a bottle of Dr. T's SPF 30 Bug-Away Spray. I was thrilled as we had our upcoming camping trip and I wanted to try a natural alternative to deet. I was also pretty stoked that it's a sunscreen too.

"Formulated with SP3 Technology, Supergoop's DEET-Free Lemongrass and Cedar Bug-Away Spray, is a unique blend of active organic ingredients stabilized so the lotion does not break down when exposed to sunlight!

Whether it's a child that needs a little extra protection, or an adult likely to get a bite or two while exploring outdoors, a safe Bug-Away spray can be the difference between comfort and discomfort."

We tried it several times on our trips to the park. By we, I literally mean "we". Malakai and I both wore it. Neither of us got a sunburn and no bugs gave us any trouble.

The real test came last weekend when we took our
camping trip. I was already convinced that the sunscreen part was doing it's job well, but now I wanted to find out if it was going to work against mosquitos. My mom was skeptical and told me the natural stuff never works, and I tend to agree with her.

We made sure to spray Malakai with it a couple times a day and in the presence of mosquitos, nats, and other bugs we didn't have any problems. We even went on a trek through the woods.

Our last morning there were a TON of bugs around camp as we had left a lantern on outside to help Malakai feel more at home overnight. Before getting out of the tent we did our usual spray-down and right away a mosquito landed on Malakai's head! Luckily, I was able to shoo it away before it bit him. We built a fire and had no more troubles.

So, I think in areas heavily populated with insects it's hard to say that this product was completely effective. However, I've never thought that deet bug sprays were 100% effective either.

I am very happy with this product and will continue to use it when we're out in the sun and/or among bugs. Other than it's natural qualities, I also love that it's a spray. I've tried the stick sunscreens, the regular lotions ones, and now this spray. It sprays evenly for a quick and easy coating which is essential when trying to protect a very wiggly baby!

Now it's your turn to try some great products from EcoMom!
